The spatial design for the Olivia Rodrigo afterparty, presented by American Express at Säälchen, transformed the venue into an immersive celestial environment inspired by a glowing night sky. Art direction was developed by Inertia Services, creating a visually striking setting that balanced atmosphere, energy, and brand integration.

The focal point of the experience was a dramatic overhead star installation, featuring hundreds of illuminated points of light suspended above guests to create the illusion of a constellation-filled sky. Integrated LED technology animated the installation with subtle pulses and shifting tones, bringing the space to life throughout the evening. Dynamic lighting highlighted the industrial character of Säälchen while responding to the music and evolving mood of the event.

American Express branding was seamlessly woven into key guest touchpoints, complementing the overall design language. Planned to accommodate a large audience, the layout encouraged movement and social interaction while maintaining clear sightlines. The afterparty was a tremendous success, drawing a packed crowd and creating an electric atmosphere that lasted throughout the night, making it a memorable extension of Olivia Rodrigo’s Berlin performance.
